Introduction

Medlink Nordic AB was founded in 2014 and is one of Sweden’s leading companies in healthcare staffing. Medlink’s consultant managers all have cutting-edge expertise in their fields and work focused in their specific area. Today, Medlink is procured in all regions, in many municipalities and among many private healthcare providers. This gives them the opportunity to offer tailor-made solutions for both healthcare actors and healthcare professionals.

 

Challenge

Medlink needed to automate and get away from manual processes. The picture of what they envisioned was that everything that is bookable today (e.g. booking training sessions or hairdressing appointments) is possible to do digitally. In the staffing industry, many steps are still very manual. Therefore, the idea grew from Medlink wanting to create an application and platform where consultants themselves can go in and book the assignments they want. They also did not want to be dependent on the company’s working hours, but to open up the possibility of being able to communicate with their healthcare staff around the clock. To simply give more control and freedom to their consultants.  

 

Cooperation

Euvic has played a central role in its collaboration with Medlink. In addition to product development, Euvic has provided advice covering business objectives, workflow analysis and solution design. Euvic has also provided input to the company’s business and digitalization plans via an Advisory Board. The digitization work resulted in a transformation of the company that innovates the business model to meet new needs in healthcare staffing. 

 

Solution

The process of finding the right consultant for the right assignment is now automated, with a particular focus on offering a portal designed for the needs of consultants. Medwork is a platform where consultants can quickly and easily search and apply for assignments. It also includes an innovative matching feature. Think Tinder but for healthcare staffing.  Consultants can fill in their workplace and timeframe preferences, allowing for a seamless connection with relevant assignments. 

 

What sets this solution apart is that Medlink themselves have full control over the matching parameters. They can decide what type of matching they prefer, which means they have the ability to control their margin. Instead of just matching based on skills or availability, Medlink can now also take into account factors such as travel costs, salaries and the time commitment of the assignment. This means that Medlink can also control which assignments they take based on profitability.

Medwork differs from other portals in its combination of user-friendliness for consultants and a profitability-oriented matching function. After implementing Medwork, Medlink has experienced several tangible improvements in its operations:
