Tell us, who are you and what is your previous experience?
My name is Karl, I am an engineer and professional problem solver. After many years in Stockholm, I am now enjoying life with my family in a small town in Småland. In my career I have gained experience from both huge enterprises to small startups. I have worked in manufacturing, software development and retail, in roles such as CTO, architect and project manager.
Why does Euvic feel like the right next step in your career?
I think Euvic as an employer is really interesting, with an exciting development journey ahead – one which I believe I can contribute a lot to and also receive lots of personal development in return. And most of all it is very important to me to work with lovely, competent and driven colleagues!
How do you see your role as architect and project manager within Euvic, how do you want to contribute?
Technology in all its shapes and forms have always been my primary interest, and IT has always been closest to my heart. Early in my career I found leadership and I have a strong interest in people. I see myself as a technical leader with a strength in making technology understandable and accessible to others, and to use that ability to bring others together in solving tricky problems.
What do you see as the biggest frustration when it comes to digitalization that many companies struggle with today?
I think that lots of companies in the world see the rapid change and know that they too need to catch the train before it is too late. Many want to start small to not cause disturbances in the company, but reality seldom allow for such an approach, why the result of digitalization is far from the desired state.
What do “the good people” mean to you?
Prestigelessness and humility are the first things that pop into my mind. People who perform well and contribute to a collective better, without putting themselves and their own gain first, are for me the archetype of “the good people”.
What do you think defines a proactive partner?
It is about a healthy cooperation and a strong relation – a symbiosis. Openness and honesty from both parties are required for it to work, and when it is in place there is almost an automatic and constant progression. For me in my role as a consultant and for us at Euvic this means to demonstrate honesty and competence in the partnership, so that we are be able to present suggestions and solutions that take the customer to where they want to be and further still.
Finally, if you could choose any person in the whole world to have dinner with – who would it be and why?
I would take the change to meet David Attenborough, a living legend with an incredible wisdom. I am fascinated by his lifelong passion for the Earth, and how he tirelessly explains and describe humanity’s role and impact on all life on the planet. His incredible experiences and knowledge would make a dinner both enlightening, engaging and humbling.
